By: Habiba Cooper Diallo On Saturday, February 18th, I held an author event for my new book #BlackInSchool at Indigo bookstore at the Yonge and Eglinton Centre in Toronto. I am grateful to community members who came out and purchased signed copies of my book. It was a pleasure exchanging with them and discussing my journey in writing #BlackInSchool. They expressed keen interest around my experiences in high school as a young, black girl and considered my reflections, as I shared how I processed and overcame certain challenges. I also thank the welcoming and supportive Indigo staff for hosting me in store. The event was a success and I look forward to engaging again with community at venues across the country! Stay tuned.
